Ebony publishes “The Man Who Lived 30 Years as a Woman” in October 1951. It reported on the story of Georgia Black, a Black woman who lived and died in Florida. Black was only found to have been a trans woman after her death, when the county physician who performed her autopsy leaked this information to the press.
